JR Publishing

JR Publishing

An independent press for epic fantasy.

The Press

JR Publishing is a small independent press with its roots in epic fantasy and its doors open a good deal wider than that.

We keep the list short on purpose. Each author gets room to build properly: work that is planned out, edited with care, and seen all the way through rather than abandoned partway. We would rather publish a few books well than a hundred in a hurry.

The press is based in Central Florida and is an imprint of Kessel Run LLC.

What We Publish

Genre is a starting point, not a fence

Epic fantasy is home base. It is what we know best, and it will always be a good part of the list. But we read widely, and we are open to more than one kind of book.

We welcome fiction of most stripes, romantasy, and LGBTQ+ fantasy and fiction. We also publish adult work that goes all the way there, and we mean that plainly: explicit fiction, including kink and BDSM, non-monogamy, and relationships that live outside the traditional lines. Written with intent and real craft, that work is as welcome here as anything else.

What matters to us is simple. A story that earns its place, and prose that knows what it is doing, whatever shelf it ends up on.

Submissions & Inquiries

Send us your book

Submissions are open, in small numbers. We take on only a few new projects at a time so each one gets real attention, which means we read selectively and we don't rush it.

To pitch, send a short query, a one paragraph summary, and the first chapter or two. If it fits what we are about, or pushes it somewhere interesting, we want to see it. Rights, press, and partnership inquiries come to the same place.
